Wedding - Frequently Asked Questions
How Many Photos Do You Normally Take During The Wedding And Reception?
The number of photos taken on the actual wedding day is unlimited and varies upon wedding size. Normally, Mark takes around 1,000 photos during the course of the day. Tonya usually ends up with about 1,500. This doesn't even count the engagement session and bridal session! The wedding day photos consist of pre-wedding, wedding ceremony, formals, and reception.
What Type Of Shots Do You Take At A Wedding/Reception?
At a wedding and reception, we shoot formals, candids, and photojournalistic shots. Most of the photos we take will be candid and photojournalistic, but we also take Formal shots of the bride and groom, the wedding party, and the families.
We always see photographers pulling the couple away from the day to walk off and take pictures...Do you do this too?
We hear couple's scared about this ALL the time. We take as many of the formals as possible BEFORE the wedding that doesn't include the bride and groom together. That way, after the ceremony, we can finish up all the family pictures and formals with the couple together and be finished in a half hour after the ceremony. We don't want all your guests sitting at the reception waiting on the couple to finally get there. Everyone has been through that, and it's terrible! Once you get to the reception, everything else are candid shots which means we don't pull you aside to take more pictures. We just take them naturally as the day unfolds.
Do you bring backup equipment?
We bring several cameras to your wedding because equipment is equipment, and it can always malfunction. Nevertheless, we always have a backup just in case.
What are my print color options and print sizes?
You have the option to have any of your photos in color, Black and White, or Sepia, on glossy or matte paper. The photos can be printed any size from mini-wallets to 20x30. You can also have your favorite photo turned to an oil painting on canvas.
Do you throw out the pictures you don't like?
We don't delete ANYTHING from the pictures. You see everything that is taken so you can decide what you like and dislike, not us.
Who will be shooting the wedding?
Mark Floyd and Tonya Beaver are the only photographers who shoot weddings. Depending on which photographer is booked, the other will shoot your wedding. Because they both have worked together for so long, their pictures are impossible to tell apart even by them! They both love weddings and end up close friends to most of the couples and family.
What is meant by "no time limits"?
We don't believe that a time limit should be put on your wedding day. We normally start by meeting the bride about 2 hours before the wedding and will stay and photograph your wedding until the couple leaves the reception. We do this because we don't think anyone should be rushed on their wedding day. We don't believe in interrupting the wedding day flow by rushing shots because you can't go over certain blocks of time.
How many weddings do you shoot a day?
Because there are no time limits on your wedding day, we only book one wedding a day per photographer.
Can you retouch Images if necessary?
Any necessary cropping or color adjusting is done automatically. Per the client's request, we can whiten teeth, remove moles or pimples, etc for an extra charge.
What happens with the negatives?
All packages that come with the complete set of originals can be obtained one year. We keep copies of ALL weddings we shoot just in case anything ever happens to the couple's copy (house fire, scratch on the CD, etc.)
What kind of albums do you offer?
We offer various albums, folios, parent's albums, etc. You can get the more traditional looking wedding album or the flush mount albums where you design a page with pictures on top of pictures and can even ad writing. This is a new modern type album that is becoming more popular. If you want something you've seen in a magazine, a friend, or online, just ask us and we can see if we can make it happen.
How long after the wedding do we get our album? Prints?
The normal time from when you build your album until it is delivered is about 8-12 weeks. The normal turn around time on individual prints is a week or so depending on how many were ordered.
How Much Is The Deposit And When Is It Due? Remaining Balance?
The deposit is $400 to secure your wedding date. The deposit is paid at the signing of the contract. The remaining balance of the package is due prior to the wedding.
How far will you travel? What is the travel fee?
There is no travel fee for weddings within the Jacksonville/Orange Park area. Weddings over 50 miles will be subject to a travel fee. We will also travel outside of the FL - GA areas if the transportation and lodging is paid.
How soon should we book your services?
As soon as possible! Currently, we are booking weddings as far as 14 months out. The sooner you book, the more likely the date will be available. |
